Homemade gluten-free apple pie really helps get Sam's spelling motor running, so I make sure to keep some on hand for letterboard lessons. Last week, as I pulled a pie out of the oven, Sam's teacher asked him to spell one word to describe fresh, hot apple pie, and this is what he spelled:
